Our Aim
“In our Foundation Stage Unit we aim to provide a stimulating environment where learning takes place through the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils.
We provide opportunities for your child to seek new challenges and to practise and consolidate skills, competencies and interests.
Your child is encouraged to become a motivated learner and thinker, eager to be curious about their world.”

Parents as Partners
Partnership with parents/carers is at the heart of our Early Years ethos. As an Early Years team we believe that parents are a child’s first and most enduring educator and when partners and practitioners work together the results can have a positive impact on children’s learning and development. We invite parents to join us for a range of activities/sessions throughout the year and value their ideas and contributions greatly. Our parents are invited each term to view their child/children’s ‘Learning Journal’ and comment on any next steps/interests that they feel could be followed up. We also encourage our parents to contribute to their child’s journal via ClassDojo and Wow moment slips.
Please see below the planned parental partnership sessions for 2018-2019.

Durham County Council Early Years- Play Matters Conference- 2018
Miss Chambers and Mrs Smith enjoyed taking part in the ‘Play Matters’ conference organised by Durham County Council Early Years Team. We were asked to present a display board to capture and showcase some of the outdoor play based experiences and learning environments that we offer our pupils.
