As past of the [Link:34831,Comenius Project] and Food For Life Partnership, some children accompanied Miss Hird and Mrs Goldsmith to Durham to take part in a Farmers’ Market. It was set in 1914. They took along a selection of Trench Cakes and each cake was dedicated to a soldier from the West Cornforth area who died in WW1. They informed the public about the football team from the village and where they would have shopped and lived. They even looked at where they would have worked before becoming soldiers of The Great War. Later that day they recieved the Bronze Food For Life Award for our school.
