To raise awareness for World Mental Health Day (Tuesday 10th October 2023) pupils in Class 6 were tasked with considering positive and negative coping strategies when dealing with mental health and self-care top tips. They considered what helps their brain and thought about reflective questions. They then produced a video, linked to their learning in music, to raise awareness. In music, the pupils have been learning to sign the song ‘Happy’ by Pharell Williams, which they can be heard singing in the video.

Starting School – Applying for a School Place
Message from Mrs Costello (Headteacher)
Hello,
I am absolutely delighted to introduce myself as the new Headteacher at West Cornforth Primary School. The first time I visited West Cornforth I knew there was something very special about the school and I am very excited to join the team and to work alongside you all to continue to build on the excellent work that goes on here.
I’m really looking forward to getting to know the children and over the coming days and weeks I would like to meet as many of you as possible. Please come up and say hello if you see me around school and keep checking Classdojo for more updates.
Mrs Costello
Thank You……
To everyone involved in WCP school life, thank you for your support, kind wishes and lovely presents. After seven successful years, my final one ended with lots and lots of laughs and good fun.
I wish very good luck to those who are moving on to the next stage of their education, and the staff and children who are also leaving the school and moving on to pastures new.
Have a lovely summer.
Jill Hodgson
