We have enjoyed receiving lots of fantastic pieces of work this week, and it has been nice to see children completing a range of home learning tasks! As always, the photos of learning in the video are brilliant, and we would like to thank children, parents and carers for sharing their home learning with us during the fourth week of school closures. Enjoy the video, see if you can spot your work/picture, and keep up the excellent learning that is taking place at home!

Designing Personal Protective Equipment
In school today, the children designed personal protective equipment (PPE) that they would make for NHS workers to help protect them. As you can see from their designs, their PPE would be bright and colourful, and they have included rainbows in their designs, which have been used to show support for NHS staff. When creating their designs, the children thought hard about how best to protect the staff and patients, and they even made small visors and masks for their dolls using recycled materials.
Mental Health and Well-Being Resources
If you have any concerns about your child’s mental health or well-being, CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) have created a site for young people, carers and professionals to pool together lots of helpful resources from across the internet, that are available to help support you.
There are some videos, information sheets and books available to read. These resources may help you to explain the virus to young children, in a way that can help reduce the fear and worry it can cause in children.
Should you find it helpful, you can access the website using the link below:
Scientist Training
In school, the children were learning about how scientists are caring for us at the moment. They learnt about the difference between a vaccine and a medicine and role played being a scientist creating a cure. They measured and combined substances to test against a sample of the Westcornfovirus until they found the perfect concoction to make the virus fizz, splutter and die.

Yoga at School Resources for Children
Here are some brilliant resources from Yoga at School, which may help West Cornforth Primary School pupils and parents stuck at home during this very difficult time.
These resources are yoga video lessons that all children can practise at home during the lockdown, completely FREE! The lessons are simply structured, easy to follow and to teach, as well as safe, highly engaging and great fun. Parents do not need any yoga knowledge or experience to do this.
The lessons consist of THREE short animated videos, which you can download using the link below, and use when it best suits the children.
