At West Cornforth Primary School we are extremely proud to be able to take part in a wide range of sports during the academic year. The children have the opportunity to participate in netball, tag rugby, football, cricket, multi-skills and basketball (to name a few!). Take a look at our action plan form more information. We have developed a document that uses the Early Learning Goals and the National Curriculum to help summarise and identify what West Cornforth Primary School would like our pupils to look, sound and behave like by the end of each year group.

Mr Hoggart organises and leads many games throughout the week to keep our children active. Under his supervision, LEAP leaders run multi-skills and playground games.
Swimming assessment results 2016-17 (percentage of children who have passed all assessments in swimming)
- Year 2 – 52%
- Year 4 – 60%
- Year 5 – 61%
- Year 6 – 81%
Children who have not passed their swimming assessments have access to booster sessions in the summer term.
